Ahead of Women’s Aid 50th anniversary in 2024, Women’s Aid is asking everyone to Come Together to End Domestic Abuse, demonstrating how we can make a difference if we come together across society and our communities. Everyone has a part to play to end domestic abuse.
Farah Nazeer, chief executive at Women’s Aid said:
“We are delighted that TINA – The Tina Turner Musical’s gala anniversary performance is in support of Women’s Aid. It is well known that Tina Turner herself is a survivor of abuse and it is wonderful to have the story of such a powerful and influential woman supporting our mission. Tina is an inspiration, her story shows the strength of survivors and that there is hope for women experiencing abuse currently – there is both freedom and happiness after abuse.
As Women’s Aid approaches our 50th year, we are asking everyone to Come Together to End Domestic abuse. We know it is devastatingly common with 1.7 million women experiencing abuse every year. Everyone has a part to play in ending abuse and we need everyone to step up, and do everything they can across their communities to end domestic abuse. We thank both the team and cast for playing their part and partnering with Women’s Aid to support our lifesaving work. Together we can end domestic abuse.”
Tali Pelman, Producer of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, said:
“Tina Turner’s story is one of survival and of triumph against adversity. All of us at TINA – The Tina Turner Musical are proud to support Women’s Aid, who put survivors at the heart of their mission to end domestic abuse. At this special Gala performance celebrating our 5th anniversary on the West End, we are here to amplify their crucial work and the voices of survivors, with Tina as a beacon of inspiration for us all.”
