TORY MP David Warburton was clearly having a “mid-life crisis” prior to his admission to a psychiatric hospital, a prominent political journalist claimed this morning.

Political commentator Andrew Pierce said the MP raised eyebrows recently after taking to wearing a leather bomber jacker and tight jeans while working in Westminster.

Women have made claims of inappropriate sexual behaviour against him and he has been pictured posing next to what looked like racked-up lines of cocaine on a baking tray.

Pierce told GB News: ‘Three women have made allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour and I was talking to senior Tories yesterday who said he’s had a midlife crisis.

“This is a guy who lost eight stone in weight often being spotted on the Commons terrace in a leather bomber jacket and tight jeans.

“Now, I’ve been going to Parliament for donkey’s years. You don’t normally see Tory MPs in their mid 50s wearing a bomber jacket and jeans.

“He has had some form of midlife crisis but this is hugely painful for his wife, who runs his parliamentary office and is paid to do that by the taxpayer.”

Mr Pierce made his comments during an interview on Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel on GB News.

Referring to pictures in newspapers showing the MP posing alongside what looked like lines of cocaine, Pierce criticised Mr Warburton for his in “idiotic, reckless behaviour”.

He added: “He’s been suspended by the Tory parliamentary party, and I suspect his career as an MP will be coming to a close because almost certainly his local party if these allegations are upheld, will deselect him if indeed he doesn’t resign.

“What the Tories don’t want him resigning anytime soon, because there’d be a by-election down there in his constituency, in Somerset in Froome.

“The Tories lost the last two in what were supposedly safe seats and they could easily lose another one.”
