To help people get into the party spirit as they make their way from London to Brighton this Saturday for Brighton & Hove Pride, GTR is putting on a surprise musical performance at London Bridge station on Saturday 1st August from Brighton-based Drag Queen, Snow White Trash.
Known for her singalong saxophone numbers, Snow White Trash – the ‘saxiest Drag Queen in the UK’ – will entertain crowds with a musical medley of iconic hits, featuring crowd-pleasing renditions of songs inspired by this year’s Pride headliners, RAYE and Diana Ross.
Festivalgoers travelling from London Bridge on Saturday morning will be treated to two 45-minute performances from the Drag superstar, which will take place on the main concourse near platform 4, where Thameslink services bound for Brighton will depart the station.
Jenny Saunders, Customer Services Director at GTR says: “We’re proud to once again be supporting Brighton & Hove Pride as the festival celebrates its 35th year. It is one of the biggest events on our network and every year we help thousands of people get to and from the event by train. We wanted to make the journey to Pride just as memorable as the day itself by bringing a little bit of sparkle and sax-appeal to London Bridge station! We have plenty of services to get people down to Brighton and back again, but if you’re planning to travel by train please check your journey ahead of time and be aware that our trains will be a lot busier than usual.”
With huge numbers expected at the event, GTR has announced it will be running an enhanced service over the weekend with additional trains and longer carriages. There will be a queueing system in place at the station to manage crowds leaving the festival, for full travel information, please visit the dedicated Pride pages of the Southern and Thameslink websites.
