The South African talented music producer UMngomezulu who’s real name is Thulasizwe Mngomezulu, finally works on his debut album after 10 years since his previous album. Over the past couple of years UMngomezulu has been focused on his studies while working on a record store, this delayed his ability to work full time with his music. Fortunately the producer did have a few releases independently and under other music labels, however his interest in working on an album has always been there time after time. His music is a very rare breed of Deep Melodic House which has its own unique emotional touch, this is the type of music that many say heals souls.
With a few collaborations on his debut album, his plan is to tell a story about his true original ancestral roots. The album has vocal collaborations which is highly anticipated by most since his been releasing alot of instrumental projects, it consists of one of the most respected poets called “Bongani Mehlomakhulu” who appears on the Defected Records imprint called Sondela Recordings and the well known South African label “Stay True Sounds”. A soul music song writer called Shirley Heavens is also part of the project with her amazing vocals, this is the first unique instalment by UMngomezulu.
This album will give UMngomezulu a chance to introduce his own record label called “Emotional Music Recordings” and for the first time releasing a full album independently. “Remedies From Zululand” is the name of the album which simply means that music that heals from his province called Kwa Zulu Natal. One of his other goals is to give respect to the Zulu culture through House Music and praises to the Zulu Kingdom since it’s part of his origins, the album will be released latest around September or October this year.
UMngomezulu has released a lot of projects independently from the “Through Deep Waters EP” to “The Moonlight EP” and a few single releases with collaborations on other stables. So far his music is well respected and admired by many DJs, producers and fans so starting his own independent record label is a new journey of excitement.
