University of West London (UWL) lecturer Sally Sheppard has been appointed as a Trustee of The Educators Trust, the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Educators of the City of London, reflecting her growing contribution to higher education, where she combines industry experience with a passion for preparing students for careers in rapidly evolving digital and creative industries.
Supporting education and educational leadership
The Educators Trust supports the advancement of education and those who dedicate their careers to teaching, learning and educational leadership. Through its charitable work, the Trust seeks to make a positive and lasting contribution to education and to the wider community.
As a Trustee, Sally will contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the charity, helping to ensure it continues to champion education and support initiatives that make a positive difference across the sector.
Combining industry experience with academic leadership
Sally is Course Lead for the recently launched BA (Hons) Games Art and Animation programme at UWL’s London School of Film, Media and Design (LSFMD). She also teaches across a range of gaming and esports courses including BSc (Hons) Games Design and Development and BA (Hons) Esports.
With extensive experience spanning industry practice, curriculum development and higher education leadership, Sally brings a practice-led approach to teaching that helps students develop the creative, technical and professional skills needed to succeed in the games and interactive media industries.
Speaking about her appointment, Sally said:
