The University of West London (UWL) is proud to be playing a central role in this year’s Ealing Book Festival, with a series of acclaimed authors, broadcasters and public figures appearing at the University’s St Mary’s Road campus.
Kicking off on Wednesday 29 April, the Festival brings together readers and writers for a packed programme of events celebrating literature, ideas and conversation. The festival offers audiences the chance to hear from leading voices across fiction, politics, history, business, music and current affairs, with events taking place across multiple venues in Ealing.
Several of the headline sessions will take place at UWL, further strengthening the University’s role at the heart of cultural life in the borough. Among those appearing on campus are Jung Chang, Anthony Horowitz, William Boyd and Mary Portas, alongside a wide range of other celebrated writers and speakers.
UWL has a long-standing connection with creativity, culture and the arts, and is proud to support events that bring communities together through shared experiences and fresh perspectives. Hosting the Festival also reflects the University’s commitment to civic engagement and its place as an anchor institution in West London.
Professor Peter John CBE, Vice-Chancellor and President of UWL, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Ealing Book Festival to our campus and to support an event that celebrates the power of ideas, imagination and discussion.
Universities should be places where communities come together to learn, debate and be inspired, so we are proud to open our doors to residents and visitors for this important local festival.”
For UWL the partnership is another example of the University’s strong connection to the local community and its contribution to the cultural vibrancy of the area.
