Veolia, which runs six Household Reuse and Recycling Centres (HRRCs) across the South London Waste Partnership area of Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton, is inviting residents from across these boroughs to pick up free pre-loved toys this summer at its pop-up toy bonanzas.

Veolia is hosting two upcoming toy bonanzas at its Factory Lane and Fishers Farm HRRCs in Croydon to give old toys a new lease of life, just in time for the summer holidays. Residents from across Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton are invited to come and select up to four free toys per family at:
Veolia’s Factory Lane HRRC on Tuesday 28 July from 10:30am to 2:30pm
Veolia’s Fishers Farm HRRC on Thursday 30 July from 10:30am to 2:30pm
The available toys have been donated throughout the year by local South London residents, and give everyone in the community a chance to receive new toys whilst benefitting the environment by promoting reuse.
Andrea Lowe, Regional Manager, Veolia, said: “Our toy bonanzas are a fantastic way to brighten the summer holidays for local children. Residents declutter their homes year round and these events give a chance for their preloved goods to give back to the local community as well as the planet. It’s a wonderful way to teach children the importance of reuse.”
Executive Mayor of Croydon, Jason Perry, said: “Every year our residents generously donate thousands of pre-loved toys to our Household Reuse and Recycling Centres. Donating these toys means they get to be enjoyed by other local families and reduces waste benefitting our environment.
“I am proud to support this fantastic initiative – these giveaways are a great opportunity for Croydon families to pick up free toys to keep children happy and entertained over the summer holidays.”
Year round, residents visiting any of the HRRCs in Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton are able to drop off items in good condition for reuse. Items are made available to purchase at a reduced cost at two Community Reuse shops, which are located on site at Fishers Farm HRRC in Croydon, as well as at Kimpton Park Way HRRC in Sutton. For safety reasons, electrical items and soft toys are not accepted.
