JACOB Rees-Mogg’s GB News show was interrupted last night by the sound of an explosion at Buckingham Palace.

GB News had been broadcasting live all day from outside the Palace but Jacob was relocated to a portacabin along with Royal commentator Michael Cole following a security alert.

Jacob continued with the show until police appeared at the door and Michael Cole said that the pair would have to evacuate.

As Jacob was signing off, an explosion could be heard.

“I’m very sorry to say it is good evening from me for the time being – as I think that was a controlled explosion in the background, that what it sounded like to me, we will no doubt find out later.”

Police later said that a man had been arrested after what appeared to be shotgun cartridges had been thrown into the grounds of the Palace.
