Hertfordshire Zoo is set to host its biggest and best half-term celebration yet with the return of its popular attraction Pumpkin Valley. From Friday 23rd October to Sunday 1st November 2026 the zoo will be transformed into an autumn wonderland offering a complete day out for families, and the best bit? It’s all included in the price of a regular day ticket.
From the moment guests arrive through the magical bubble-and-smoke entrance, they will be immersed in the sights and sounds of autumn, with roaming scarecrows entertaining guests throughout the day.
There’s a seasonal pumpkin trail with plenty of grid-worthy photo spots and new for 2026 is The Pumpkin Shack, where guests can pick and purchase their very own pumpkin to take home for carving, decorating, or Halloween displays.
Unlike standalone pumpkin patches, visitors to Pumpkin Valley can combine their autumn adventure with a complete day out at Hertfordshire Zoo, getting up close to their favorite animals and visiting the acclaimed World of Dinosaurs attraction.
Experience the World of Dinosaurs Under the Stars
For those looking for an extra Halloween thrill, the zoo is staying open late on select dates for Dinos After Dark. Running on 23rd, 24th, 25th October and 30th, 31st October, 1st November, this evening event allows guests to experience the World of Dinosaurs in the dark, delivering a whole different and decidedly scarier adventure. From 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, visitors can explore the prehistoric trail under the stars, brought to life with glowing lights and live entertainment.
