A Wood Green opticians and audiologists have raised an amazing £3,127 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking on a charity walking challenge.
And it was a very personal challenge for the team at Specsavers Wood Green, as they were walking in honour of two former colleagues who they have recently lost to cancer.
Staff committed to walking or running a massive 1,000km during the month of April to raise much-needed funds for the charity, and were blown away the support they received from colleagues and customers.
35 team members took part in total, and completed an amazing 1,070km. Optometrist Bashir Undre took the top spot in a tightly-contested Strava race, completing an awe-inspiring 160km by himself.
It all took place as part of the High Road store celebrating its 30th anniversary in Wood Green – and the team were delighted to be able to hand over such a lovely sum.
