Now in its 10th year, Veganuary has inspired individuals around the world to experiment with plant-based eating. London, already home to the largest share of vegans in the UK (Statista) is well versed in meeting the needs of vegan diners. This is certainly evident in Wembley Park – London’s most exciting new neighbourhood – where those trying Veganuary this January are invited to discover the superb range of eateries serving vegan dishes.

1. Choppaluna

Newest on the scene is the just-opened Choppaluna, which specialises in fast, fresh super salads, with over 60 toppings and homemade dressings available. The Nacho Avocado salad with spicy peanut ginger dressing is a particular hit, including in its ‘big-roll’ format, which comes wrapped in a jalapeño tortilla. The warm Falafel and Sundried Tomato Melt with Violife Cheese is another favourite, while seasonal soups are ideal for warding off the January chill.

2. The White Horse

Quintessentially British pub The White Horse is another popular hangout for Wembley Park’s vegans. The Plant-Based Full English makes for a great start to a long, lazy weekend, while the Wild Mushroom Bourguignon with potato and cauliflower mash and white truffle oil is the perfect treat for a dark January evening.

3. Smoky Boys

London’s largest BOXPARK is also located in Wembley Park, providing a range of plant-based flavours from around the world. Burger fans are particularly well served by the selection of world-class street food on offer there, including the outstanding Smoky Vegan Burger at Smoky Boys.

4. Nanny Bill’s

While at BOXPARK, it would be a crime not to try the Lula Black Bean and Quinoa burger packed with Teriyaki-glazed pineapple at Nanny Bill’s. Nom.

5. Island Poké

Poké bowl fans also have plenty to get excited about at BOXPARK. The Teriyaki Tofu and Miso Aubergine bowls at Island Poké are not to be missed, while diners can also choose to build their own bowls to experiment with different flavour combinations.

6. Viva Falafel

The freshly made falafels and juices at Viva Falafel are another BOXPARK must. All falafels are made to order, following the chef’s closely guarded grandmother’s Lebanese recipe.

7. Masalchi

Vegans looking for an Indian dining experience in Wembley Park are also well served. Twice Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar serves up a range of plant-based delicacies at his popular Masalchi restaurant. Vegans can feast on Chukunder Chaap, Gobi Pakora, Punjabi Chole, Adraki Gobi and more, followed by a succulent Tandoori Pineapple. The bright, welcoming restaurant is perfect for a date night to remember or an enjoyable catchup with friends.

8. Pasta Remoli

As January drags on, the comfort of hearty Italian food can sometimes feel like an essential. Wembley Park ticks this box more than adequately for vegans, with the Ajo, Oio and Peperoncino pasta at local institution Pasta Remoli celebrating the joy of simple, flavourful comfort food.

9. itsu

The noodle bowls, gyoza and soups at itsu are another firm favourite when it comes to banishing the winter blues with comfort food. The Korean Spicy Stir-Fry Style Udon Noodles are packed with flavour, while the Veggie Gyoza Noodle Bowl is like eating a warm hug.

10. Haute Dolci

Finally, for sweet-toothed diners, Veganuary is the perfect time to sit amid the indoor cherry blossoms of Haute Dolci to sample a range of plant-based delights. The Chocolate Dream, Choco Berry-Licious waffles and Maple Magic might even be enough to convince you to carry on experimenting with veganism for the rest of the year.
