5. The film
The best reason of all, of course, is the film itself. There have been numerous movies about the Kray Twins over the years, but they’ve all told the same story over and over. What’s different about The Krays: Dead Man Walking is that it focuses on one of the lesser known chapters in the notorious brothers’ lives, centring around violent convict Frank Mitchell (dubbed ‘The Mad Axeman’ by the press), who, with the help of Ronnie and Reggie, finds himself on the run from the police. His escape from prison sparked what was, at the time, the biggest manhunt in British police history. The new film tells the story of how Mitchell spent his time as an escaped convict under the shadow of the notorious twins. It’s violent, it’s gritty, and it’s right up our street. Hereford Films have been responsible for some of the best British crime films of the last decade, from Vendetta to We Still Kill the Old way, so we know we’re in for a good time.
See you there!
