Artist Laxmi Hussain has joined the multi-award-winning creative arts charity Create as one of its Patrons. Create’s Patrons have a passion for creativity and its power to enhance lives, and lend their voice to support the charity in a variety of ways.
Laxmi Hussain is a London-based artist whose art blends elegance and precision, drawing inspiration from the human form, motherhood, and nature’s ever-changing beauty. Her intricately composed works transcend traditional boundaries, inviting viewers to engage with her art through deliberately incomplete elements. Blue, an ever-present hue in Laxmi’s palette, carries a deeply personal resonance. It stands as a tribute to her mother and mirrors her poignant journey of self-discovery and creative exploration.
Laxmi has left her artistic footprint amongst some of the most prestigious brands and organisations, including Tate, Soho House, Henry Moore Studios, Vogue – Philippines, US & UK, Penguin Books and H&M Home. Her creative expertise ripples into the worlds of fashion, design, and literary expression.
In her role as Patron, Laxmi will be supporting Create’s mission of empowering lives, reducing isolation and enhancing wellbeing through the creative arts.
Create provides free high-quality creative arts experiences for children and adults facing challenges in their lives, working with professional artists and community partners to bring creativity directly to people. Participants are given a chance to get creative with others and boost their skills, confidence and wellbeing through music, dance, painting, photography, drama, and a host of other artforms.
Speaking about her decision to become a Create Patron, Laxmi said:
“I was instantly drawn to Create when I first met its Founding CEO, Nicky Goulder and became aware of the important work the charity does in making art accessible to many who really need it. I believe that as humans we have a fundamental desire to create. Making art is such an empowering experience. As an artist it has helped me through so many aspects of my life, joyous and sad, and I have always felt that the power of doing so should be shared. This is what Create does, giving those who really need it an opportunity to express themselves, build community and grow. I’m truly honoured to join Create as one of its Patrons, to support the charity in sharing all the ways the arts can positively impact so many people.”

Since Create was founded in 2003, the charity has worked with almost 51,000 isolated and vulnerable participants across more than 17,400 workshops, helping them to explore their creativity, develop skills, and build positive relationships, enhancing wellbeing.
Create Patrons support the charity in many ways: by inspiring participants through attending workshops and performances; assisting with fundraising activities; raising the charity’s profile through blogs and media interviews; and lending their time and expertise to other initiatives.
