Asda has launched a campaign encouraging England to ‘Eat the Kiwis for Breakfast’ ahead of England’s World Cup Semi Final against New Zealand on Saturday morning.

Its store in Rugby has become the epi-centre of support for England, with colleagues labelling the fruits with stickers proclaiming “C’mon England! Eat the Kiwis for Breakfast”, and giving away hundreds of free Grower’s Selection Ready-to-Eat kiwis at the store on Friday afternoon at 1pm, ahead of the game.

Rugby fans across the UK wanting to get behind Lions should head down to their local Asda, where the retailer is currently stocking the cheapest kiwis in the country – priced at just 10p per kiwi, as part of a pack of 6 ASDA Farm Stores Kiwis.

Given the 9am kick off time, England fans are expected to be glued to their TV sets whilst they eat their Saturday breakfasts, so Asda is encouraging them to eat a healthy breakfast whilst doing so.

It is 24 years since England and New Zealand have met in the World Cup. On that occasion, the All-Blacks triumphed with a masterclass from Jonah Lomu.
