Billericay Town FC seem to be doing their bit both on and off the pitch.
Their millionaire owner and manager Glenn Tamplin took to social networking site Twitter this morning to confirm that the Isthmian League Premier Division side had taken two homeless gentleman off the streets and offered them jobs at the club.
Tamplin tweeted “BTFC just picked up 2 homeless guys from high street Provided a place to live & job at football club. 2 local lads now off the streets”
The gesture was welcomed by Tamplin’s followers with one tweeting “Well done, you’ve partly restored my faith in human nature in these seemingly dark times! #humanity #muchkudos“
Back on the pitch last Tuesday, the Blues in front of a crowd of 1,024 hammered Hungerford Town 5-1 in a Emirates FA Cup Third Qualifying Round replay.
