Schoolgirl Coco Baptist, 6, from Bromley, has beaten over 300 applicants to land the sweet sweet role of Aldi’s Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer, along with two other Specially Selected members of the public.

The position, which kicked off on the 22nd March, saw the mini Officer given FREE Aldi Easter eggs in exchange for providing feedback on the range, which this year includes creations such as the blonde chocolate Specially Selected Exquisite Beehive Egg with honeycomb pieces, as well as the brand’s famous Giant Dragon Egg.

As well as advising families on important egg purchasing decisions this Easter, the review videos, which are being aired across Aldi’s social media channels, will also help to inform Aldi’s chocolate buying team when planning for the supermarket’s 2022 children’s Easter egg range.

To land the role, Coco – who has an older brother Leo, 9 – submitted a two-minute video entry, for which she sampled Aldi’s Dairyfine Mini Mixups to showcase her tasting capabilities. Judges found the entry to be ‘enthusiastic’ and ‘charming’, with Coco displaying a ‘natural ease in front the camera’ whilst rating the eggs from 1-10.

Coco Baptist said: “I really wanted to give my honest opinion, so I rated Aldi’s mini eggs from 1-10, 1 being AWFUL and 10 being AMAZING. The plain chocolate egg had a very sweet taste which I loved, so I gave that a pure seven. The popping candy egg was nice but it was also a bit strange, it felt like there were little explosions in my mouth. My FAVOURITE was the cookies & cream egg – it was so nice, I gave it a 10! My least favourite was the toffee egg, which got just 3 points”

Coco’s parents, Kellie and Beau Baptist said: “We are very proud of Coco landing the role of Aldi’s Chief Easter Egg Officer, but it’s no surprise to us at all. She is extremely lively, bold and spirited – and cannot wait to get started with reviewing Aldi’s Easter egg range!”
