Schools in London are celebrating after their trust, E-ACT, was named Multi-Academy Trust of the Year (Large) at the MAT Excellence Awards 2026.
E-ACT runs three schools in London and 37 schools nationally, supporting thousands of pupils across England. E-ACT’s schools in London are:
E-ACT Crest Academy in Brent
E-ACT Braintcroft Primary in Brent
E-ACT City Heights Academy in Tulse Hill, Lambeth

The national award recognises the impact of the trust’s work to improve outcomes for pupils, support staff and strengthen school communities.
Judges praised E-ACT for its “exceptional metrics for both quality and impact across the sector”, as well as its clear and consistent approach to improving schools.
They also highlighted the trust’s wider influence across education, including its work supporting more than 100 schools beyond its own network.
For families in London, the award reflects the focus on making sure local schools are inclusive, well-supported and ambitious for every child.
Across its schools, E-ACT has delivered improvements in attendance, pupil outcomes and support for children with special educational needs and disabilities. The trust has also invested in staff development and wellbeing.
Tom Campbell, CEO of E-ACT, said:
“This award is recognition of the difference our schools are making for children every day.
“We have focused on getting the basics right. Strong teaching, good attendance, and the right support for every pupil. That is what improves lives.
“I am especially proud that our work is helping not only our own schools, but others across the country as well.”
He added:
“This belongs to our staff, pupils and families in London and right across E-ACT. They are the ones who make our schools such positive places to learn and work.”
The MAT Excellence Awards celebrate excellence across the academy trust sector and are judged by a panel of education experts.
The awards are held in partnership with the Confederation of School Trusts and the Institute of School Business Leadership.
