UK based Jamaican patty company, Flake Bake, announces the release of its new Jamaican-inspired ready-meals, launching exclusively in Aldi from the 16th September.
Serving Caribbean flavours straight from your supermarket shelf, Flake Bake’s new range brings the taste of the holiday home, as new research shows that almost a third (29%) of Brits agreed food is one of the things they miss the most when they return from a holiday, increasing to 40% for those aged 25-44 years old.
With nearly one in five (18%) agreeing they’d like to see more Caribbean cuisine in their local supermarket, Flake Bake is on a mission to bring bold, authentic Jamaican flavours to the masses. Its new ready-meals are bringing a taste of the sunny isle to Aldi aisles, including:
Jerk BBQ Chicken with Rice & Peas: Cooked chicken in a barbeque style sauce served with Basmati rice and red kidney beans
BBQ Beef & Sweet Potato Mash: Cooked beef in a barbeque style sauce served with potato and sweet potato mash
Both BBQ flavours are naturally sweetened and enhanced by a blend of classic Caribbean aromatics and ingredients, including pineapple, scotch bonnet peppers, ginger, thyme and pimento, whilst the BBQ Jerk Chicken meal is served with coconut infused rice.
Ready in minutes, the new meals boast bold Jamaican-inspired flavours without compromising on cost or convenience, making them the perfect option for a quick midweek meal or filling lunch.
It comes as new data by Flake Bake showed the top three most important factors for diners when choosing what to eat at home included: great flavour (49%), easy to make (45%) and affordability (44%). Almost a quarter (24%) of Brits also agreed they’d like to spend less time cooking in the evenings.
Flake Bake has long brought authentic Jamaican flavours to homes across the UK. This new range marks its second product launch with supermarket retailer Aldi, following the viral success of its sell-out Jamaican patties in 2024.
