Ealing Broadway is partnering with Let’s Ride Southall and Decathlon to offer the local community a free bike workshop on Sunday 1st November, helping cyclists to prepare their bikes for the winter.
Taking place outside Tesco Express from 12pm to 3pm, the ‘Dr Bike’ event will give cyclists of all ages and levels of experience the opportunity to have their mechanical bikes checked by experienced mechanics, with no booking required.
The Dr Bike mechanics will carry out free safety checks and complete minor repairs and alterations on the spot, including brake adjustments, gear tuning and tyre inflation. Visitors can also pick up practical maintenance advice to help keep their bikes running smoothly throughout the year.
The Decathlon team will be on hand to offer expert advice on cycling equipment and accessories, alongside information about its bike servicing and workshop facilities.
Those cycling into town can also make use of Ealing Broadway’s Ride & Park facility which provides a free, convenient place to leave bikes while you shop, dine or enjoy the centre.
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to support our local community which is why we’re so pleased to be teaming up with Let’s Ride Southall and Decathlon to provide cyclists with free advice and repairs for the months ahead, making winter that little bit easier.”
Let’s Ride Southall is a community-driven movement funded by Sport England and Ealing Council to encourage the Ealing community to get moving. The organisation is backed by local groups, charities, businesses, and the NHS.
