The LETTA multi-academy trust in Tower Hamlets is delighted to have secured over £4m in funding that will bring improvements to its schools’ buildings.
The funding has been granted by the Department for Education’s Condition Improvement Fund (CIF), which offers capital funding to smaller multi-academy trusts and voluntary aided bodies for repairing and maintaining school buildings.
LETTA submitted nine bids for funding across its family of schools and is delighted to have had five of the nine approved.
This exceptional outcome will see £4,206,711 of investment into the trust’s school estate and is a significant vote of confidence in LETTA’s strategic approach to estate management and long-term investment planning.
The cash injection will see vital improvements at Bygrove Primary School, Hermitage Primary School, Virginia Primary School and Stebon Primary School.
There will be heating plant replacement works at Bygrove and Hermitage and fire safety compliance works at Hermitage, Virginia and Stebon.
The successful projects will help ensure the school buildings remain safe, warm, compliant and fit for learning, while reducing the risk of disruption caused by ageing infrastructure.
Hasib Hikmat, Chief Operating Officer of the LETTA Trust, said: “We are very proud to have secured this funding for five major projects in our schools, highlighting the success of our strategic approach to estate management and long-term investment planning.
“This is a remarkable achievement for the Trust and reflects the hard work, expertise and commitment of colleagues across our schools, central team and professional partners.
“Most importantly, this funding will directly benefit our pupils and staff by supporting safer, more resilient and sustainable learning environments for years to come.”
Jo Franklin, CEO of the LETTA Trust, added: “We are delighted with this year’s CIF outcome and look forward to delivering these important improvements to our schools over the coming months.
“The projects will provide significant long-term benefits for our school communities, helping to create comfortable learning environments where pupils and staff can thrive.”
