A grassroots wellbeing initiative created by two Fulham residents is expanding after growing demand from the local community.
Parsons Green Stretch Club has announced the launch of new Saturday morning sessions following requests from participants who wanted an additional opportunity to join the club each weekend.
Since launching earlier this summer, the outdoor community project has brought together local residents for weekly stretching sessions in Parsons Green, combining movement, fresh air and social connection in an informal setting.
From this month, the club will meet twice every weekend, with a new Saturday session at 8.30am joining the existing Sunday class at 10am.
While the Sunday sessions remain relaxed community classes suitable for all abilities, the new Saturday programme has been introduced for those looking for a more in-depth stretching practice. Designed for early risers, the class offers a longer and more structured session focusing on flexibility, mobility and posture. Led by Maria Saukhina, a certified aerial fitness instructor, aerial silk performer and visual artist, the Saturday class costs £10 and is aimed at participants with previous experience or those looking for a more challenging practice.
Parsons Green Stretch Club was founded by local residents Olga Regina, a visual artist and PR and marketing specialist, and Maria Saukhina, a visual artist, performer and certified aerial fitness instructor.
The idea grew from the founders’ own weekend stretching sessions. Believing there would be interest from others in the local community, they decided to open the sessions to the public and began building the project through local social media channels and community platforms.
Their instinct proved right. Interest has continued to grow, with more local residents joining the sessions and helping the club develop into a welcoming community centred around movement, wellbeing and social connection.
The founders said:
“From the beginning, we wanted to create something that was open, welcoming and accessible to the local community. As more people joined us, it became clear there was real demand for regular outdoor stretching sessions in the area. The new Saturday class is a direct response to requests from participants who wanted an additional session each weekend.”
The club has already received enthusiastic feedback from attendees, with one participant describing her first visit as “the best stretching session in London.”
Both sessions take place outdoors in Parsons Green. Sunday classes are suitable for complete beginners and anyone looking for a relaxed introduction to stretching, while the new Saturday sessions are intended for those seeking a more focused and progressive practice.
Participants stay connected through the club’s private WhatsApp community, where the exact meeting location is shared before each session along with updates from the organisers.
Anyone interested in joining can register their interest via the club’s Instagram page, and the organisers will be in touch with further details.
