FUNERAL COSTS IN LONDON EXCEED £5,350 FOR THE FIRST TIME

0

The cost of a funeral in London has risen by 2.3% in the past year, taking it over £5,358 for the first time in 18 years, making it £1,000 higher than the national average, according to new research.

SunLife’s research found that the average cost of a funeral is now £4,054 and the total cost (when the professional fees and send-off costs are added to the funeral price) is £8,864, which is still a great deal of money to find as food, fuel and other costs continue to rise.

With the fuel prices and travel costs going up, live streaming a funeral might be a good option to help your family to participate in the funeral service in real-time, no matter how far your family lives. Funeral live streaming has become incredibly popular in the UK in the last few years, however, now with living costs going up it makes more sense than ever before to live stream the service of your loved one. The average cost for the live streaming service in London starts at £500.

Despite the first-ever year-on-year decrease in costs, funerals are still a third more expensive than they were a decade ago.

While funeral costs across the UK have decreased, costs in London have risen 2.3%, meaning families are increasingly having to turn to more affordable and stripped back send offs instead.
