The stars were out to celebrate London’s Air Ambulance Charity last night with the likes of Liz Hurley, Sadie Frost and Jemma Kidd joining host, presenter and art historian Mark-Francis Vandelli, and attendees at Raffles OWO London. Guests mingled with the doctors, paramedics and pilots who make up the London’s Air Ambulance team and learned first-hand about the work of the service, which is funded by donations.
Guests enjoyed ample opportunity to support the lifesaving teams, with a live auction hosted by Lord Harry Dalmeny backed up by a spectacular performance by Mica Paris and a range of inspiring speakers.
Most movingly, the father of a patient of the service spoke about his experience of the London’s Air Ambulance team attending to his three year old son, and the incredible moments he’s been able to share with him that just wouldn’t have been possible without their lifesaving intervention.
HRH The Prince of Wales also reflected on his days as an air ambulance pilot in a foreword for attendees , written in support of London’s Air Ambulance Charity to support the gala and the charity’s fundraising efforts. In the foreword, he said he was “honoured” to represent the service and to help raise awareness of its life-saving work.
The charity’s latest mission statistics show that their advanced trauma medical team treated 2031 patients in 2025, just shy of the record-breaking number of patients treated in 2024. This year’s data shows demand for the service has increased by nearly a fifth since 2021, with patient missions growing by roughly 4% per year.
With a critically injured patient needing the service’s advanced trauma care every four hours, the need for the service shows no sign of slowing down and is predicted to keep growing.
Jonathan Jenkins, Chief Executive of London’s Air Ambulance Charity, said:
“We are enormously grateful to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales for his continued patronage and heartfelt words of support, and to every guest, donor and supporter who joined us at the Black & White Gala.
Demand for our service continues to grow, and the generosity shown this evening will make a real and lasting difference to the patients and families who rely on us every day, helping loved ones share more moments together.”
Julia Leal Hartogs, Chair of the London’s Air Ambulance Charity Philanthropy Board, said:
“Tonight was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together.
The funds raised will help London’s Air Ambulance Charity continue delivering life-saving trauma care across the capital, giving critically injured patients the best possible chance of survival.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it possible, from our attendees to our performers and everyone who donated a prize for our auction – including our fabulous auctioneer Lord Harry Dalmeny.”
