The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Lloyd’s of London Foundation are inviting thrill-seekers, City professionals and charity supporters to take on one of London’s most exhilarating fundraising challenges as the Lloyd’s and The Lady Mayor’s Abseil Challenge returns on 8–9 July 2026.
Participants will descend the iconic Lloyd’s Building in the heart of the City of London, experiencing breathtaking views and an unforgettable adrenaline-fuelled challenge while raising vital funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
The two-day event will see individuals and corporate teams abseil down one of the capital’s most recognisable landmarks, with The Lady Mayor, Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley, joining the challenge on Thursday 9 July.
Open to anyone over the age of 18 who is reasonably fit and healthy, the event requires no previous abseiling experience. Professional instructors will guide participants throughout the challenge to ensure a safe and memorable experience.
With a registration fee of £50 and a minimum fundraising commitment of £350, every participant will help support through the work of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal in creating better opportunities for people to work and thrive and prosper in the city.
Now firmly established as one of the City’s standout fundraising events, the challenge combines teamwork, courage and community spirit while bringing together businesses and individuals from across London.

The Lloyd’s Building, famed for its distinctive “inside-out” architecture and which celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year, provides a dramatic backdrop for the challenge and offers participants a unique perspective over the City skyline.
