London’s top 10 Caribbean dishes revealed ahead of Notting Hill Carnival

Ahead of Notting Hill Carnival taking place on 25th and 26th August, Uber Eats has revealed London’s top 10 favourite Caribbean dishes, with jerk chicken taking the top spot, followed by dumpling burgers and goat curry.

As one of Europe’s biggest street festivals, Notting Hill Carnival is a huge celebration of the Caribbean’s vibrant, rich and colourful culture, with music, costumes and food at its heart.

Londoners’ Top 10 Favourite Caribbean Dishes:

  1. Jerk chicken
    Grilled chicken marinated in spicy, jerk sauce 
  2. Dumpling burger
    A traditional deep fried, sweet and moreish dumpling in a burger
  3. Goat curry
    A rich and flavoursome curry with goat meat
  4. Oxtail stew
    A warming stew with oxtail and beans
  5. Chicken stew
    A mouth-watering chicken stew with peppers and spices
  6. Caribbean punch
    A fruity rum punch
  7. Caribbean patty
    A pastry that contains various fillings and spices 
  8. Mac and cheese
    A cheesy baked pasta dish
  9. Plantain
    A part of the banana family, sliced and fried to perfection
  10. Ackee and Saltfish
    Ackee is a Jamaican fruit served with salt cod

Uber Eats can reveal the five most popular Caribbean restaurants on the app – including Turtle Bay in Brixton and Croydon, which recently launched on the app to deliver fiery, jerk classics.
