The limited edition drink combines matcha with black sesame, sea salt and agave, creating a smooth, slightly nutty flavour with a subtle savoury edge. Served with Maya’s Sproud Zero M*lk, the collab offers a fresh take on matcha that feels a little more elevated, tapping into the growing love for ‘sweet meets savoury’ flavours. Available exclusively in the UK, Maya Jama’s Matcha will be served across JOE & THE JUICE stores in London, Manchester, Birmingham and beyond from 15th April.
The launch also taps into the rise of East meets West flavour fusion, with ingredients like matcha and black sesame showing up across cultural spaces within food and beauty. Black sesame in particular is having a major moment, with global interest doubling since 2022 and being tipped as one of the next big flavours set to follow in matcha’s footsteps, alongside ube and milk tea.
