The red carpet premiere of Brit geezer fest THE KRAYS – DEAD MAN WALKING was packed with dazzling beauties – Rita Simons, Linda Lusardi, Danielle Harold and Vicki Michelle all added lashings of glamour to the glitzy event. But perhaps the most striking of all was the bewitching Janine Nerissa, a new face on the UK indie scene but fast becoming a very popular one.
Looking a decade younger than her 47 years, the raven haired former model only entered the acting business a few years ago but wasted little time in securing a top Hollywood agent (who also represents Billy Zane, Steven Berkoff and Lindsay Lohan) and a string of roles in movies including The Krays, The Exorcism of karen Walker, Aura and the upcoming gangland home invasion movie Reckoning Day.
Born in Chelsea, Janine grew up in Kingston in Surrey to a Trinidadian mother and a Guyanese father and dreamed of becoming a ballerina. She joined the English Youth Ballet and was destined for success but an injury saw her ambition shattered and she refocussed on music, playing First Violin in the Surrey Youth Orchestra. As an adult she worked in the City of London as an accountant before making the jump to showbusiness in her early 40s.
Janine is also becoming a popular face on the London social scene: last week she was at the launch of Tom Parker-Bowles’ new cook book at Fortnum and Mason along with The Duchess of Cornwall, Stanley Tucci and Jimmy Carr as well as Ralph Lauren’s 50th Anniversary Party with Paul Feig and David Gandy.
Her eye-catching selfies have already landed her 50,400 instagram followers and coverage in the National Papers and 2019 is looking to be a big year for the talented beauty.
