Ireland’s favourite musical comedy duo The 2 Johnnies are heading to London for the first time headlining The 02 Brixton Academy on 16th March. The pair have more than conquered their homeland and are now ready to bring their unique brand of cheeky Irish humour live to the UK.

“We plan to knock down every door and taboo with no topic too big or small when we bring the show to the people of London. Expect comedy, music, audience interaction, this gig has it all – expect a culture shock!” JOHNNY B

The 2 Johnnies are Johnny “Smacks” McMahon and Johnny “Johnny B” O’Brien) from Tipperary. The pair created and host Ireland’s biggest podcast, “The 2 Johnnies Podcast”, with over 500k listeners per week and over 41 million downloads! They also host a 3-hour national daily radio show on RTÉ2fm.

They are two regular guys from the countryside with a wide-eyed insatiable hunger to engage with the world! This has led to their own TV series, sold out arena shows and were this year’s Electric Picnic Festival headliners performing to over 10,000 people.

The 2 Johnnies began in 2016 when Johnny B, a hurler maker, and Johnny Smack, a butcher in Supervalu, were asked to MC a fundraiser at Cahir GAA. Whilst on stage they realised they had chemistry, and together were a riot! Johnny B was also lead singer with a covers band Johnny B and the Boogeymen, however after the fundraiser he realised comedy was his true passion and knocked music on the head. Johnny Smack, meanwhile quit his job and within six months from that first MC gig, the pair were working full-time as the 2 Johnnies.

From humble beginnings publishing relatable Irish small town life sketches and self released music videos on facebook & youtube, the pair have gone on to produce Ireland’s no.1 podcast, produce three TV shows on Ireland’s state public service broadcaster RTÉ, have ten number-one singles, a sold out live tour of the USA and Australia, sold out two 5,000-capacity arena show in Ireland. Their forthcoming Christmas Party show sold all 10,000 tickets in 7 minutes.

Earlier this year they announced an exclusive deal to move their podcast to Spotify! Over the past three years, they’ve welcomed numerous guests but recently interviewed Liam Gallagher and this was picked up everywhere from Rolling Stone to Radio One!

The second series of their travel show “The 2 Johnnies Do America” has just aired and saw them travel from Juarez Mexico right up to New York via Atlanta, Texas, New Orleans, Nashville and Jersey Shore. The first series showed them touring the US and exploring the state of ‘Irishness’ in America.
