The RSPCA is appealing for information in connection with an investigation that came to light after a Youtube sleuth took on the case.
The animal welfare charity has been following up on enquiries in connection with the case – which was reported by a Youtuber.
A video he posted online – which has had over 2m views – showed him using various online search and investigation tools to try to gather information about the video so he could try to help us track down the person responsible.
The RSPCA’s Intelligence & Research Team has been further investigating and is now turning to the public for help.
Intelligence Unit Supervisor Patrick Bulley said: “We’ve been in contact with the Youtuber to thank him for all of the work he put into this case.
“We’ve been following up on our own lines of inquiry but now we’re hoping the public can help us.
“The video shows what appears to be a man dragging a collapsed tan and white bulldog along the pavement on his chest and stomach with his legs dragging behind him. It’s very upsetting.
“What makes the clip even more worrying is that the dog is wearing a veterinary cone so it appears as though he’s recently had veterinary treatment.”
The incident was filmed at the junction of Tredegar Road and Mostyn Grove in Bow, London, and it’s believed the original video was filmed in June 2026.
RSPCA officers are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the dog or anyone who witnessed the incident itself, in June, who may be able to provide more information.
Patrick added: “We’d ask anyone who knows a dog matching this description who lives locally to get in touch with us, and we’d also really like to hear from the person who originally filmed and posted the clip or from anyone who witnessed the incident itself as they may be able to help us track this dog down, as well as their owner.
