A South London charity supporting children and young people who arrive in the UK without their families has shown how a donation from CharityJob helped provide practical, emotional and social support over the past year.
The Separated Child Foundation used the funding across three services. Its welcome packs provide toiletries, clothing, towels and other essentials on arrival. Sleep packs help young people experiencing insomnia and nightmares. Club Class gives separated children a safe place to meet peers, practise English and learn about life in the UK.
The Separated Child Foundation said:
“CharityJob’s 2025 grant enabled us to offer practical, emotional and social support to separated children in three ways: Our welcome packs provide essentials like toiletries, clothing and towels for children, offering comfort and dignity. Our sleep packs are designed to help with sleep-related issues such as insomnia and nightmares. Finally, Club Class is a safe space for children to meet peers, make friends and practise English. Last year we supported 223 children through weekly sessions. 100% reported that they had improved their English and made new friends, and 90% said Club Class improved their knowledge of UK life.”
One young person supported by the charity said: “It was the first time in a long while I received something just for me. Thank you for making me smile.”
Applications open for the 2026 fund
The results in South London show what a targeted grant can help a small charity deliver. CharityJob is now inviting the next group of small charities to apply for funding.
CharityJob, the UK’s largest charity job board, is donating £50,000 this year. Five eligible small charities will each receive £10,000. Applications are open from 14 September until midnight on Friday 25 September 2026.
Over the past 25 years, CharityJob has donated £1,493,830 to 124 charities.
Applications for CharityJob’s 2026 Annual Charitable Giving are open from 14th to 25th September 2026. Charities can apply by following the link at the bottom of CharityJob’s Charitable Giving Page. Applications will be reviewed after the deadline, and successful charities will be notified in the week beginning Monday 2 November 2026.
