Thousands of small businesses are set to attend a new series of events aimed at helping them find out about the support that’s available.

Five fresh Business Shows have been funded by London Growth Hub and delivered by Enterprise Nation in partnership with local authorities and partners around the capital.

Starting in June, the local day-long events will target small businesses operating in the outskirts of London as well as more centrally-based businesses.  The first will take place in Havering, followed by Richmond, Greenwich, Barnet and with the final event at City Hall in October.

The day-long, one-stop-shop events will be an opportunity for businesses to speak directly with qualified advisers, co-working spaces and funding institutions in one go as well as pick up tips and contacts and hear seasoned entrepreneurs speak about their experiences.

Deputy Mayor for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, said: “We want to help small companies in the capital flourish, which is why we set up the London Growth Hub, which aims to simplify the business landscape for entrepreneurs and established companies. This latest initiative will help London’s diverse community of entrepreneurs gain advice and expertise in everything from digital marketing and communications to how to navigate the uncertainty around Brexit.”

Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: “We know small businesses come in all shapes and sizes. They want online support, but they are also looking for real connections in their local area, to know what’s out there that they might need now or later, and to meet with peers face-to-face. These shows are designed to offer information from experts and advisers, as well as connecting founders to each other.”
