Fans can celebrate 100 days to go until the Union Jack Classic, the first-ever NCAA division one college American football game to be played in the United Kingdom, with a one-of-a-kind World Cup watch party in London at Passyunk Avenue.

Blending the excitement of the international football tournament with the chaos and spectacle of an authentic American college football tailgate, the sold-out event takes in the opening fixture between Mexico and South Africa while giving guests a taste of what to expect when college football arrives in the UK on 19 September 2026 for Arizona State Sun Devils v Kansas University Jayhawks.

Hosted at Passyunk Avenue Waterloo, the exclusive watch party will transform the occasion into a classic American college football tailgate experience, complete with exclusive Union Jack Classic draught American beer, custom pint glasses, and merchandise giveaways.

Guests will be immersed in the atmosphere of US college football culture ahead of the landmark Wembley showdown, which is set to bring one of America’s biggest sporting traditions to London.

Back in February, Passyunk Avenue – an authentic American sports bar that originated from Philadelphia and transports the dive bar atmosphere to London – was confirmed as the official Sports Bar & Tailgate Destination for fans leading up to the game.

“As the World Cup kicks off a different type of football to what we are used to in America, The Union Jack Classic is thrilled to partner with Passyunk to give British fans an introduction to the unique American matchday fan experience” said Thomas Hensey, COO of the Union Jack Classic. “The energetic fandom of college football is a perfect setting to match the global celebration of the start of the World Cup, and we are looking forward to welcoming new fans who come down to Passyunk to the college football community.”

“At Passyunk, we have always celebrated American sports culture as a way to bring people together,” said Daniel Baczar, COO of Passyunk. “Partnering with the Union Jack Classic for the opening World Cup game allows us to share that passion on a global stage, introducing UK fans to the energy and community that make College football so special. We’re excited to be part of an experience that connects great fans from around the world with a historic game in London.”

Fans can now secure their seats to the inaugural Union Jack Classic via Ticketmaster, with ticket general admission, premium seating and hospitality packages available. Further information can also be found on the Union Jack Classic website.
