Wandsworth-based Independent Special School achieves ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating following recent inspection.

Park House School is celebrating after retaining its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating following a recent inspection under the tougher inspection framework introduced by Ofsted in July 2022.

Outstanding in all areas

Park House School, an Independent Special School for autistic children aged 4-11, has achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating after it was judged to be outstanding in all areas, at its recent inspection in May 2023.

The inspection report praised staff for building “strong professional working relationships with pupils” and described the leadership at all levels of the school as being “exceptional”. Leaders were commended for their work to enhance pupils’ personal development, and the way they empower staff to take responsibility and be accountable by living the school’s value of ‘proud to challenge’ – “this helps them to routinely challenge each other’s professional practice to improve provision for pupils”.

Inspectors also highlighted the “ambitious curriculum for pupils” which “gives pupils a broad, rich experience” and is unique and tailored for each pupil, noting how the curriculum is reviewed constantly to “meet pupils’ needs excellently”.

Director of Education, Seth Bolderow said: “I am delighted for all members of the Park House School community that their hard work has been rewarded with a judgement of Outstanding from Ofsted. Under the current framework it has proven challenging for many schools to continue to be graded outstanding and so this is a considerable achievement.”

Park House School Headteacher, Matthew Le Blanc said “I take great pride in being part of Park House School, where staff are dedicated to delivering an enriching learning experience whilst being proud to challenge for the learners that we serve. As a headteacher I am extremely grateful for the recognition that our school has received however, I also believe we can and will continue to grow and challenge ourselves to ensure we are providing the best education possible for our learners.”

Chair of Governors, Audrey Pantelis said: “The Ofsted report for Park House School reflects the amazing work that everyone in the school carries out, day in, day out, to make the school the outstanding place of learning that we already know it to be. The “high expectations” shine out and we are all proud of this wonderful team effort and subsequent Ofsted judgement.”
