West London Film Studios owner Frank Khalid has praised “how well” his studios are doing despite some very turbulent market conditions.

Films like Last Christmas, The Gentleman, Judy were all filmed at West London Film Studios last year, whilst the Oscar winning film Bohemian Rhapsody’s famous Band Aid film set was built at West London Film Studios. The latest leading production to use the studios was Emmy winning drama Killing Eve and BBC drama the Capture.

City tycoon Khalid has plans to double his size of the studios and has lodged a planning application to Hillingdon Council and hopes of the planning goes through to start building the studios as soon as possible.

Khalid has told us “The studios will bring jobs, as well as business to surrounding businesses in Hillingdon.”

Nearby businesses Pinewood Studios and Shepperton Studios were granted permission for their planning applications recently and Khalid is hoping for the same.

The film industry is the 2nd biggest industry in bringing money into the UK and the current Government has recognised the need for more studio and stage space because of the shortage of space the UK is losing out to Eastern Europe.
