The countdown to Christmas has begun, and World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens is celebrating the season with two special evenings of music, entertainment and festive cheer.
From an intimate, candlelit piano recital by British pianist Cyrill Ibrahim to a joyful community gathering filled with carols and seasonal favourites, audiences are invited to get into the Christmas spirit and come together through music.
The festivities begin on Saturday 28 November with Cyrill Ibrahim – Harmonie du Soir By Candlelight, an immersive piano experience offering the perfect festive season warm-up. A few days later, on Tuesday 1 December, the
Christmas Community Concert brings local audiences together for an uplifting celebration featuring World Heart Beat’s young artists and ensembles, carol singing and mince pies.
Since opening in 2023, World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens has earned recognition from musicians and critics alike as one of South London’s finest hidden gems.
Jazzwise has highlighted its new high-tech surround sound system in coverage of its diverse spring–summer jazz line-up, while
UK Jazz News has described it as “one of South London’s best kept secrets for serious music lovers”.
The Camden New Journal called it “an oasis of civilisation and humanity in a soulless world”, and
Shortlist ranked it among London’s top jazz venues in 2025, praising its “astonishingly vivid” sound.

Ibrahim – Harmonie du Soir By Candlelight
Saturday 28 November, 7.30pm
The ideal way to ease into the festive season, World Heart Beat Artist in Residence Cyrill Ibrahim invites audiences to experience an immersive, candlelit piano recital.
Inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s poem Harmonie du soir (Evening Harmony), the programme explores the fleeting beauty of dusk, the melancholy of passing time and the unexpected clarity that darkness can bring.
Bringing together piano works from different musical worlds, the recital moves from the introspective works of Beethoven and Mozart to the poetic soundscapes of Debussy and Chopin, culminating in the visionary and atmospheric music of Liszt.
An evocative evening of music and candlelight, the performance offers a moment of reflection and tranquility amid the excitement of the approaching festive season. reflection and tranquillity amid the excitement of the approaching festive season.

The celebrations continue with World Heart Beat’s Christmas Community Concert, bringing festive cheer to the Embassy Gardens concert hall.
World Heart Beat’s in-house young artists and ensembles take to the stage for an uplifting evening of music, featuring carols, seasonal classics and yuletide performances from some of the academy’s brightest talents. Audiences can also enjoy festive treats,
including mince pies, in a warm and welcoming community atmosphere.
Every ticket sold helps support bursaries, free musical instruments and educational opportunities for children and young people, particularly those facing financial barriers to accessing music education.
Give the Gift of Music
This Christmas
Alongside its festive events, World Heart Beat is inviting supporters, music lovers and the wider community to support its Give the Gift of Music Christmas fundraising campaign.
The campaign invites you to choose meaningful gifts, starting from £25, that directly benefit young people who might otherwise miss out on a music education and creative opportunities.
This is for anyone seeking a thoughtful present for someone who already has everything, offering a range of options that support World Heart Beat’s work with children and young people.
For example, £25 provides a meal for musicians on performance nights; £50 provides instrument care and upkeep; £100 brings the magic of live music to local schools, inspiring young people who may be experiencing live music for the very first time; £250 provides
a community café concert; £500 provides an opportunity for a young person to perform in a band for a year; or £1,500 provides a year of music lessons. Each donation comes with a personalised gift certificate, making it a present that brings joy while creating
meaningful opportunities for a young person.
World Heart Beat believes every child should have the opportunity to discover the joy and transformative power of music. More than half of its young people rely on free tuition, making donations vital to ensuring that financial circumstances do not stand in
the way of musical discovery.
