Appeal to find Enfield man who absconded from mental health unit

Detectives in Enfield are urgently appealing for information to trace an absconder from a Mental Health Unit.

The public are advised not to approach Aaron Moore, 31 (0.09.1987) as he is considered dangerous.

Moore escaped on Thursday, 20 June at approximately 15:23hrs from outside of North Middlesex Hospital, Enfield, N18. He was being escorted by three hospital staff members and wearing handcuffs when he was able flee. He ran off in the direction of the A406.

He is described as a light skinned black male, around 6ft tall, large/heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.

Aaron is a paranoid schizophrenic with a history of violence. He also suffers from diabetes.

Officers have released CCTV footage of his last known sighting. At 09.19hrs on Friday, 21 June he made a large cash withdrawal at the Nationwide Building Society, N17.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley, from North Area CID is leading the efforts to trace Moore. He said: “Extensive efforts are being made by my investigation team to locate this dangerous individual who is unlawfully at large. He has a history of violence and the risk exacerbates the longer he is without his medication which he requires daily. If you see this man, please do not to approach or challenge him but dial 999 immediately.’
