The Kensington and Chelsea Art Weekend Management Board announced the launch of Kensington & Chelsea Art Weekend in July 2018.

In total, 50 events will be held in galleries, public spaces, museums and cultural institutions; Red Bus ‘Hop on/Off’ Gallery tours connecting North and South Kensington, a lecture series and podcasts by After Nyne Magazine, curator talks & debates and temporary public art installations.

The borough of Kensington & Chelsea has an artistic heritage that encompasses some of the best and brightest creative names. From South Kensington’s museums in Exhibition Road to the bustle of King’s Road; from the urban bohemia of Notting Hill to the modern elegance of the Design Museum, a journey through Kensington & Chelsea is a journey through history.

In July 2018 the project will be celebrating the rich heritage of the borough by opening doors to local creative spaces along with leading organisations in the area to facilitate further public engagement in the local culture.

A leading platform for collecting and discovering art, Artsy has joined the project as a partner. Artsy’s mission is to make all the world’s art accessible to anyone with an Internet connection – including in its reach the cultural projects such as the Venice Biennale, The Armory Show and Basel. With an online audience of 45 million visits to date and 2.5 million visits per month, the project stands to reach a global audience of more than 190 plus countries.
