BOXHALL is once again shaking up London’s food scene with the arrival of Chuku’s Chop Stop, the latest chef residency to take over its sought-after Kitchen No.8 from 11th May.

This time, it’s the turn of Chuku’s Chop Stop, a grab-and-go spin-off of the much-loved Nigerian restaurant founded by siblings Ifeyinwa and Emeka Frederick. What began ten years ago as a humble pop-up has grown into one of London’s most celebrated dining spots, rooted in community and a passion for sharing Nigerian culture through food.

Over the years, Chuku’s has welcomed thousands of diners, earned recognition as one of the UK’s Top 100 Local Restaurants, and attracted fans from across the globe, including Hollywood’s Gabrielle Union, while also receiving backing from Beyoncé’s foundation. Now, the brand returns to where it all began, reimagining its signature flavours in a fresh, fast-paced format designed for City life.

Opening 11th May, Chuku’s Chop Stop brings a vibrant taste of Lagos to BOXHALL, serving up bold, comforting dishes made for both grab-and-go moments and laid-back dining with friends. Expect Jollof Rice Bowls packed with flavour, loaded Naija-style fries, and a selection of standout sides that have become favourites among loyal fans.

True to Chuku’s style, the menu delivers playful twists on tradition, with dishes such as Suya Meatballs and the indulgent Chocolate Yam Brownie, all crafted to surprise and delight. With vegan, gluten-free and halal options available, the offering is as inclusive as it is exciting.

Ifeyinwa Frederick, Co-Founder of Chuku’s said: “Ten years ago, we started Chuku’s as a pop-up to put Nigerian cuisine on London’s food map. So it feels exciting to be returning to our pop-up roots to mark our ten year anniversary. Chuku’s has always been about doing something different with Nigerian cuisine and while the menu at Chuku’s Chop Stop won’t be the same as our Nigerian tapas restaurant, we’re continuing to reimagine how Nigerian food is experienced – this time in a grab-and-go format.”

Emeka Frederick, Co-Founder of Chuku’s added: “Before Chuku’s, I worked in the City and Nigerian food was never part of the available lunch options. Back then, the idea of being able to step out and grab Jollof nearby felt far-fetched. So I feel incredibly proud to now be bringing Chuku’s Chop Stop to BOXHALL. It speaks to what we’ve always set out to do – make Nigerian food more accessible and part of every day London life”

Luther Dyer, General Manager at BOXHALL City, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Chuku’s Chop Stop to Kitchen No.8. The residency is all about championing standout culinary talent and bringing exciting, limited-time concepts to the City, and Chuku’s is a perfect fit. Their bold take on Nigerian cuisine, strong sense of community and established following make them an exciting addition, and we can’t wait for guests to experience their flavours in this new, grab-and-go format.”

Chuku’s Chop Stop reinforces BOXHALL’s reputation as a hub for discovery, where rising culinary stars and globally inspired flavours come together under one roof. With its rich heritage, bold flavours and cult following, Chuku’s Chop Stop is more than just a new opening; it’s a standout addition to London’s ever-evolving restaurant landscape and one set to be firmly on every food lover’s radar this spring.

Chuku’s Chop Stop will be taking over Kitchen No.8 for a limited time only, as part of the venue’s rotating residency programme spotlighting exciting, must-try food concepts.
