Camden Learning announced on Friday that Stephen Hall, Chief Executive Officer, has decided to retire at the end of this calendar year after four years with the company and nearly three decades working in education.
During his tenure, Stephen has led the company through a period of significant transformation as schools emerged from the pandemic bringing school partners together to support one another, share expertise, and tackle challenges collectively.
During this time initiatives such as Every Child Reading by 7, Rights Respecting Schools, expanded school partnerships, and investment in leadership and early career development alongside UCL, and our pioneering work in digital learning and AI, all reflect the ambition and immense creativity within our communities.
Dame Jane Roberts Chair of the Board, said:
“Stephen’s leadership has been hugely instrumental in building the strong, resilient company we are today. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank him for his contribution and absolute dedication. In the coming period, the Camden Learning Board will be seeking a talented successor to take Camden Learning into its second decade as the educational landscape evolves.
“The Camden Learning Board will shortly begin a thorough and thoughtful process to appoint a successor, ensuring the next Chief Executive will build on the strong foundations already in place, with a clear focus on finding a leader who will build on our shared achievements and continue to strengthen our collaborative, school-led system.”
Stephen Hall commented:
“It has been an absolute privilege to lead Camden Learning and work alongside such a talented team. I am so proud of what we have achieved and confident that we are very well positioned for continued success as the company for the future. Camden schools and partners are a truly great collaboration.”
Stephen will support the transition over the coming period to ensure a seamless handover.
