Greenwich and Bexley Hospice, a local charity dedicated to providing free, high-quality care and support for people with terminal illnesses, has received funding for a summerhouse as part of the Sizzling and Carling Community Action campaign, a Carling Made Local initiative that sees Great Brtiain’s number one lager brand support a range of local community projects across the UK.

Nominated for support by the local Sizzling pub, The Three Blackbirds, Greenwich and Bexley Hospice has been able to install a fully insulated summerhouse, providing patients with a comfortable space to spend precious time with family and friends, as well as admire the sensory garden in which it is situated.

On Monday 8th April the summerhouse was officially opened for use as part of a 25th
anniversary celebration of the Hospice wards, with staff, patients and family members, as wellas representatives from Sizzling and Carling, in attendance.

The funding will have a lasting impact on the charity, with the Hospice’s Major Donor Fundraiser Louise Bishop saying, “The new summerhouse is a fantastic addition to the Hospice and will be enjoyed by patients, their families, and their carers for many years to come. We are hugely thankful to the Sizzling and Carling Community Action campaign for helping us realise this project”.
