On 26 October 2023, London’s indigo at The O2 will host Ukraine’s folk-electronic legends Go_A, known around Europe and the UK for their mesmerising performances at Glastonbury, PinkPop and AppelPop amongst others. Go_A was one of the first bands to gain a huge international recognition performing in their native Ukrainian language on one of the biggest stages in Europe, at the Eurovision Song Contest. The band quickly recognised this as an opportunity to share their culture, and have been actively touring worldwide since 2021. Go_A’s performances are a seamless blend of traditional musical instruments and percussion, combined with modern and contemporary arrangements, sung in Ukrainian.
The phenomenon of Go_A’s music is that it reaches and enchants every listener, no matter where they are from and what language they speak. The band debuted on the Billboard Global 200, making their song “SHUM” both the first song by an artist from Ukraine, and the first Ukrainian-language song, to hit the global charts. The following year, their debut performance at Glastonbury’s John Peel Stage was recognised by the Guardian as “Top acts not to miss at Glastonbury 2022”.
