This spring, King’s Cross unveils Super Nature, a vibrant celebration of art and activity in a neighbourhood where nature, culture and everyday life meet.
Londoners can explore thought-provoking artwork, FREE family activities, hands-on workshops and independent markets across King’s Cross’s network of parks, canals and public squares, with Super Nature reflecting how culture, creativity and the natural world coexist. King’s Cross’s transformation in recent years has created one of central London’s most significant new urban green networks and Super Nature brings that to life through art, play and community.
Designed for families, locals and curious city explorers alike, Super Nature reflects a growing appetite for experiences that slow people down, reconnect them with nature and offer moments of discovery in the everyday city. Visitors are encouraged to take their time exploring the neighbourhood, stumble upon the unexpected and discover what makes King’s Cross so rich and varied all year-round.
Dandelions Always Return: Earth Day 2026 installation
From Saturday 18 April, Super Nature will host a striking new art installation in Granary Square: a woven pavilion by MTArt artist Delphine Dénéréaz, transforming a domestic house into a joyful, nature filled structure where giant woven dandelions and cascading fabric forests invite visitors to rethink what “wild” really means.
Set against King’s Cross’ iconic urban backdrop, home to locals, workers and visitors alike, Dandelions Always Return reimagines the home as a shared sanctuary for people and planet: a calm, welcoming place where nature gently takes back space. Built around this year’s Earth Day theme, Our Power, Our Planet, the work invites visitors to rethink how we live, build and care for the environments – human and natural – that sustain us.
The must-see installation builds on King’s Cross’s longstanding commitment to biodiversity, sustainable design and low impact public programming.
Super Nature trail
In addition to the headline artwork, visitors can explore the natural world across King’s Cross through the FREE Super Nature trail, a self‑guided route across the estate until 31 May (10am-5pm every day). Start at Lightroom to collect a recycled trail map, then follow markers through Regent’s Canal, Coal Drops Yard, Lewis Cubitt Square and Park, Gasholder Park and Chilton Square, discovering everything King’s Cross has to offer along the way.
Interactive prompts and QR codes reveal the wildlife woven into King’s Cross— from bees and butterflies to hedgehogs — with stops for treats at Midnight Pantry, Waitrose and Happy Face. Finish in Chilton Square, a relaxed green space to play, unwind and enjoy a joyful, family‑friendly nature experience after a day exploring the neighbourhood.
Sonal Jain, Sustainability and Social Impact Director at King’s Cross, says: “Super Nature reflects our ambition to make King’s Cross a place where nature and everyday life intersect. Our spring season invites people of all ages to explore the area in new ways, from encountering ambitious public art to discovering the nature that exists around us, all in the vibrant heart of London.”
