RUSSIAN TV PROTESTER WILL GET LITTLE SYMPATHY IN UKRAINE – SAYS BROADCASTER

A WOMAN who protested on Russian TV against the invasion of Ukraine has been criticised for lying for years about the truth of Vladimir Putin’s brutal regime.

Greg Herman, host of a morning TV show on Channel Ukraine, said Ukrainians will have difficulty finding sympathy for her.

He said: “There’s a joke: how do you know when a Russian lies? They open their mouth, they lie.

“This brave woman lied, lied for 15 years, and now with one story we forget these 15 years? No.”

Marina Ovsyannikova, a journalist, held up a placard protesting against the war during a news broadcast on Russia One yesterday.

She was swiftly whisked off to jail and is likely to spend years behind bars.

Herman made his comments during an appearance on the GB News breakfast show with Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster this morning (15 March).

He added that it was also hard to have sympathy for her while Russian forces are killing Ukrainians.

“You know, Ukrainians now with their lives are paying the price for her lying for the past 15 years,” he said.

“In Ukraine, we have a very big anger here in our hearts and here in our minds , very big anger for Russians.

“I think it’s very hard for us to take this and give applause for this.

“Brave woman, yes, very brave, but not it’s not fun for Ukrainians.”
