Seth Bolderow, Headmaster of Wetherby Senior School, and Monty Cortazzi, the current Head Boy at Wetherby Senior were delighted to present a cheque for £12,000 to Roger Clark, CEO of West London Mission at their head office at Seymour Place in Marylebone, London.

One of Wetherby Senior’s core values is a strong sense of community, both within the school and the wider Marylebone community, and West London Mission, which seeks to support those impacted by homelessness, poverty and other trauma, has always been a charity close to the school’s heart.

The donation is the result of incredible fundraising efforts and hard work led by Wetherby Senior’s Parent Teacher Association.

Seth Bolderow commented, “Wetherby Senior has an incredibly close knit and supportive community across our boys, their parents and our teachers and it is wonderful when all three come together as was the case for this fundraising initiative. We feel a real connection with West London Mission as both close neighbours in Marylebone and as a wonderful charity that we have had a long-term relationship with. Given the challenges that 2020 has brought, this makes our donation feel even more worthy”.

Roger Clark added: “I am incredibly grateful for the support of Wetherby Senior School, they have been a key local partner for many years and inspire and support WLM to empower people affected by homelessness, poverty and trauma make positive changes in their lives.”

Monty Cortazzi, Wetherby Senior’s 2020-21 Head Boy noted, “I know from personal experience the great work that West London Mission does every day for people less fortunate than us. Having volunteered with the charity, I also know just how much this donation will help over the Christmas period. We always support a local charity and this is something that we, as the boys in the school, chose personally”.
